Wednesday

The day started with our morning walk to Rockefeller and a subway to South Ferry (via a minor detour under the river and back thanks to my navigation).

We took the Staten Island Ferry, which was a bit misty for the view, but still fun, and gives a great view of Manhattan from the South.

After that it was Wall Street and Ground Zero. At Ground Zero we saw the Liberty towers nearing completion, which are replacing the Twin Towers, and the huge space still left where all the 7 buildings in this spot collapsed.

In the afternoon we were blessed with dramatic sunshine for our walk over Brooklyn Bridge, which was stunning.

In the evening we all caught taxis to spend some time in Times Square.
